Reza Zarrab case: Turkey seizes assets of trader in US trial SOURCE: BBC NEWS   The case involving Mr Zarrab (centre) is being closely followed in Turkey Turkish prosecutors have ordered the seizure of assets of a Turkish-Iranian gold trader who is testifying in a US trial of a banker accused of violating US sanctions against Iran. Witness Reza Zarrab earlier told a New York court that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan had approved his and the defendant's sanctions-breaking deals. Mr Erdogan has denied that Turkey breached US sanctions on Iran. The case has strained relations between Ankara and Washington. In a separate development on Friday, Turkey's chief prosecutor issued an arrest warrant for former CIA officer Graham Fuller. The prosecutor accused Mr Fuller, former vice-chair of the US National Intelligence Council, of having links to Muslim cleric Fethullah Gulen. Mr Gulen, who lives in the US

US WOMAN ADMITS TESTING HOMEMADE RICIN ON NEIGHBOURS SOURCE: BBC NEWS Ms Miller said she made the ricin from the castor beans she grew from plants in her apartment A woman living in a US nursing home has admitted making ricin and testing it on other elderly residents. Betty Miller has been charged after ricin was found in a care home in Shelburne, Vermont. Investigators said Ms Miller made the highly toxic powder from castor plant seeds. Ms Miller told authorities she made between two and three tablespoons of ricin in her kitchen. The alleged poisonings were uncovered earlier this week when Ms Miller drove herself to a local medical centre to be evaluated. The ricin was found on Tuesday afternoon in her apartment. HIV- POSITIVE ITALIAN VALENTINO TALLUTO JAILED FOR INFECTING 30 WOMEN SOURCE: BBC NEWS Valentino Talluto was arrested in November 2015 An Italian accountant has been jailed for 24 years after intentionally infecting 30 women with HIV. Valentino Talluto is said to have had unprotected sex with at least 53 women after his HIV diagnosis in 2006, the youngest of whom was 14 at the relationship's start. The accountant, using the pseudonym "Hearty Style", went on social networks and dating sites to find his victims. On Friday, judges sentenced the 33-year-old to 24 years in prison. Talluto's defence lawyers had argued their client's actions were "imprudent, but not intentional". However, those who asked him to wear a condom were told he was either allergic, or had recently been tested for HIV, news agency AFP reported. TWITTER BANS RT AND SPUTNIK ADS AMID ELECTION INTERFERENCE FEARS  SOURCE; BBC NEWS   Twitter is banning two of Russia's biggest media outlets from buying advertising amid fears they attempted to interfere with the 2016 US election. The ban on advertising from Russia Today (RT) and Sputnik, and all linked accounts, was "effective immediately". US authorities say both act as "a platform for Kremlin messaging". The social media giant will donate an estimated $1.9m (£1.4m) made from the outlets into research on Twitter's use in "civic engagement and elections". Twitter said the decision "was based on the retrospective work we've been doing around the 2016 US election and the US intelligence community's conclusion that both RT and Sputnik attempted to interfere with the election on behalf of the Russian government".
