Happy birthday, Gina Rodriguez! Jane the Virgin is turning 31 today, July 30. We think this is going to be the best year ever for this rising TV superstar!

Gina Rodriguez skyrocketed to fame over the past year for her starring role in CW’s Jane the Virgin, and we’ve been totally obsessed with her ever since. Today, July 30, is Gina’s 31st birthday, and we’re just so excited to help her celebrate! Do you think Rafael is going to help out, too?
We can’t think of anyone who’s had a better year than Gina. Her amazing hit show, Jane the Virgin, premiered in October 2014 to stunning critical acclaim, and much of that was due to Gina’s masterful performances. We’re desperately waiting for that second season to start!

Gina was rightly recognized for her work, winning the Golden Globe for Best Actress — Television Series, Musical or Comedy. Not too shabby! It’s no wonder that Gina was named “next big thing” and one of the “top 35 Latinos under 35,” by The Hollywood Reporter; she’s definitely one to watch!
What many remember from Gina’s Golden Globe win is her stunning acceptance speech, a graceful and humble nod to her roots and the support of her family. Gina teared up, and we definitely couldn’t keep it together, either!
Her year wasn’t just all about Jane, though. Gina landed the cover of Latina magazine, completely gorgeous as she posed in just an open blazer. Looking good, girl! She spoke about her adorable relationship with Revenge star Henri Esteve, and her thoughts about experiencing pregnancy in real life. Her take: she wants to “give birth to [her] career” first! Ha!
