Talented but overrated: Mourinho must NOT build around Pogba COMMENT    By Solace Chukwu      Follow on Twitter    Euro 2016 has come and gone, and one of the emerging subplots is the performance of Paul Pogba .if possible, scrutiny of his play has only intensified with news of Manchester United ’s willingness to shell out a world record fee - in the region of £100 million - for his services. While it is impossible, thankless even, to try to work out what a player is worth in today’s hyper-inflated market, one can attempt to make a judgement on just how good a player is. To simplify, Pogba is acutely unique. Monstrous physical qualities: speed and size, an almost implacable strength, balletic balance, the elegance of a gazelle bounding through a veldt; are allied to the flourish of a circus showman, the touch of a butterfly, a seemingly inexhaustible gallery of catchy haircuts. As is common with footballers w...

Digne can compete with Alba, but where will Barca find a right-back to replace Alves? By Ben Hayward The Catalan club announced the signed of the left-sided defender from Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday, but they still need a player on the opposite flank after the Brazilian's ... COMMENT Barcelona are getting their transfer business done early this summer. Less than two weeks into July, the Catalans have already brought in three players, with Denis Suarez, Samuel Umtiti and Lucas Digne all snapped up. But the Blaugrana are no nearer to finding a replacement for Dani Alves at right-back. Digne provides healthy competition for Jordi Alba, with the Spain left-back below his best for much of last season, and is an upgrade on Adriano who is close to agreeing a move to Lazio. The France defender, who spent last season on loan at Roma, joins from Paris Saint-Germain for an initial €16.5 million, while Barca paid Lyon €25m for Umtiti and Denis cost ...

The Lazio midfielder playing with the German Bundelsiga outfit got the better of Barcelona in the one sided encounter that saw the Bavarians have 30 shots on target against the Blaugrana’s solitary two. Barcelona’s goalkeeper was forced to make 15 saves while Bayern Munich’s shot-stopper was called to action just once.
