Hillary Clinton took home the win at the Puerto Rico Democratic primary on June 5, beating Bernie Sanders by a wide margin. She’s just a few delegates away from clinching the mathematical party nomination. Will she get the nod?
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, 68, cinched the victory at the June 5 Democratic primary in Puerto Rico, putting her that much closer to her party’s presidential nomination! Hillary may become the first woman to lead a party ticket, and it looks like she’s cruising toward the White House after beating Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, 74, by over 20 percent in the latest primary. Is that going to hold up after the next Super Tuesday? Click through for the details!Well done, Hillary! The former secretary of state and New York senator won over Bernie by 61 percent to 38.4 percent, with 22 percent counted. Hillary secured 31 of the 60 delegates at stake in the US commonwealth, with Bernie gaining 14. As it stands, Hillary now has 2354 delegates, leaving her just 49 delegates away from mathematically cinching the Democratic party nomination (2383 delegates).
Keep in mind, though, that getting the required number of delegates does not get her the party nomination. The primary elections are not yet over, and Bernie can still catch up after six more states (California, New Mexico, New Jersey, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota) vote on June 7, and Washington, DC votes on June 14.

And even if she secures the required number of delegates, she still needs to get elected at the Democratic National Convention by her party in July. Additionally, she has 548 superdelegates included in her count, meaning those folks can change their mind and switch their allegiance to Bernie at any time. Rough! However, there’s now a 73 percent chance that Hillary could become president, though, if she secures the nomination and runs against Donald Trump, 69, according to CNN’s live odds!
