RUMOURS: Guardiola wants EIGHT Man City signings
The incoming Catalan coach is set to completely
revamp the playing staff at the Etihad Stadium by signing a number of
players in almost every area of the squad
Incoming Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola is looking to complete a total overhaul of the squad and is targetting the signing of eight players on his arrival ahead of the 2016-17 season.
According to ESPN FC, Guardiola wants to bring in a goalkeeper, two centre-backs, two full-backs, a central midfielder, a quick winger and a striker to complement Sergio Aguero.
To that end, the Bayern Munich boss has signalled his interest in Athletic Club centre-back Aymeric Laporte as well as Everton's John Stones, while the club are also targetting Barcelona's Marc-Andre ter-Stegen and Borussia Dortmund's Ilkay Gundogan.
Guardiola's summer shopping may, in turn, spell the end for some of those currently on the fringes of the City first team, with Wilfried Bony set to leave at the end of the current season.
