Justin found himself in an unfortunate situation at Coachella when security put him in a chokehold at Drake’s show. However, his ex girlfriend Selena is sticking up for the singer and believes it was ‘totally unnecessary’ and ‘unfortunate’, an insider tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.

Selena Gomez, 22, is coming to her famous former boyfriend’s defense after he was put in a chokehold at Coachella on Apr. 11. The In Dubious Battle actress thinks Justin Bieber, 21, wasn’t at fault and didn’t deserve to be mistreated, HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY reports.

While many may think Justin’s chokehold incident was warranted, Selena thinks it was completely uncalled for.
“Selena heard about what happened to Justin at Drake’s concert and thought it was unfortunate,” an insider tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
Justin was attempting to get into the artist’s entrance at Drake’s show, but was turned away from security who eventually put him in a chokehold and escorted him out of the festival.

“She said putting Justin in a chokehold seemed totally unnecessary and that poor choices were made. She doesn’t believe Justin was at fault,” the source says.
Justin and his legal team are reportedly threatening to press charges against the security team who kicked him out.

Selena & Justin: Will They Reunite?

As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Justin wants to reunite with Selena in the recording studio.
“Justin’s the one who brought up the collaboration with her. It was right before Coachella that he reached out to her about it. She (Selena) was pleasantly surprised,” an insider told us EXCLUSIVELY. “Selena says she and Justin are on much better terms now and that she would even consider collaborating with him on a possible song, but only if she got the okay from Zedd.”
