It’s never fun to see anyone go home on ‘The Voice,’ but sadly, two more super talented contestants were eliminated on the April 21 episode. Find out who’s heading to the Top 8!
America has spoken…and The Voice’s Season 8 Top 8 has been revealed! Unfortunately, that means two amazingly talented singers had to be sent home on April 21. Check out our full recap of the nail-biting episode!‘The Voice’ Top 8 Revealed: Deanna Johnson, Rob Taylor Sent Home
To start off the night, coach Pharrell Williams hit the stage to perform Gavin Degraw’s hit “I Don’t Wanna Be” with his two remaining team members, Sawyer Fredericks and Koryn Hawthorne. So cool — definitely an epic collaboration!(In case you missed it: Koryn is my new pick to win it all after her AMAZING rendition of Ed Sheeran’s “Make It Rain.”)
After a commercial break, Carson revealed that former coaches Usher, Gwen Stefani and CeeLo Green will be returning as advisers for team Adam Levine, Pharrell/Christina Aguilera, and Blake, respectively, next week. OMG, so exciting that they’ll all be back! Unfortunately, Shakira is busy with her newborn baby so she won’t be able to make it.
Carson then announced that America also saved Sawyer and Christina’s team member, India Carney. That means both of Pharrell’s remaining artists are moving on — so exciting!
Tonight’s guest performer was country megastar Reba McEntire, who sang her current single “Goin’ Out Like That.” OKAY, this woman is absolutely AGELESS. She KILLED it!
Getting back to business, it was then revealed that Blake’s artist Meghan Linsey and Christina’s Kimberly Nichole are also in the Top 8. Two spots left!
Before finding out who would fill those spots, though, Adam hit the stage with his two remaining team members, Joshua Davis and Deanna Johnson, and the trio killed it on their performance of “The Joker.”
Blake’s final contestant, Hannah Kirby, also made the Top 8, meaning both of Adam’s contestants, Joshua and Deanna, as well as one of Christina’s, Rob Taylor, would be singing for America’s Instant Save on Twitter.
For their final songs, Rob, Deanna and Josh sang “Sitting on the Dock Of The Bay,” “Help Me Make It Through The Night” and “I Won’t Back Down,” respectively. All three totally gave it their all as they sang for their lives, but after an anxiety-filled commercial break, Carson announced that the final member of the Top 8 will be…. Joshua Davis! He received the majority of instant Twitter votes, meaning Deanna and Rob were sent packing.
That leaves Blake with three singers left, Pharrell and Christina with two and Adam with one. Everyone’s going to really have to keep bringing their all next week!
Tell us, HollywoodLifers — do you agree with tonight’s elimination? Who do you think should win it all?
