Nigerians Abroad: PSG hit six past sorry Enyeama

Lille goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama was powerless to stop the PSG onslaught

The Super Eagles captain was at the receiving end of a brutal PSG backlash, while Edward Ofere and John Owoeri were on target in losing efforts for their clubs in Europe.
SPAIN
Striker Cedric Omoigui was on target for Mallorca B in the Spanish third division on Saturday. The 20-year-old opened the scoring with a powerful header from a left-wing cross, but opponents L’Hospitalet found a leveller to rescue a point at home. Mallorca B are down in 15th in Segunda B Group 3, with 43 points from 35 games.
Kalu Uche and Ramon Azeez were both named on the bench for Levante and Almeria respectively as both clubs earned three points. Uche however did come off the bench with eight minutes to play, as Lucas Alcaraz’s men won 1-0 away at Getafe to climb to 15th on the table.
Azeez on the other hand was an unused substitute as Almeria overcame Eibar 2-0 at home.

ITALY
Midfielder Ogenyi Onazi got a chance to impress in Serie A at the weekend, and gave a creditable performance. The Nigeria international played 86 minutes in Lazio’s 1-1 draw against Chievo at the Olimpico. Thanks to Roma’s loss the day before however, Le Aquile maintain their hold on second place in the table, fourteen points behind champions-in-waiting Juventus.

ENGLAND
Nigeria international Peter Odemwingie made a return to action after missing eight months of action through injury. The 33-year-old came on for the final ten minutes in Stoke’s 1-1 draw against Sunderland at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday, replacing Jonathan Walters to a rousing ovation from the home crowd.

There was a 15-minute cameo at the end for Brown Ideye in West Brom’s gritty rearguard action against Liverpool at the weekend. Led by Saido Berahino and Victor Anichebe upfront, the Baggies mustered little attacking intent but were brilliant defensively, holding the Reds to a 0-0 draw. Anichebe went off after 64 minutes, replaced by Callum McManaman having mustered one shot and managed 15 touches of the ball.
Sone Aluko played all but five minutes for Hull City in their 2-0 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, via a Dame N’Doye brace. The result moves the Tigers out of the relegation zone and into 16th place with five games still to play.
QPR on their part passed up a chance to win at home against West Ham, with topscorer Charlie Austin missing from the spot in the 23rd minute. The home side dominated proceedings but were unable to find the breakthrough. Nedum Onuoha was on for the duration of the game.

SWEDEN
Forward John Owoeri got his second goal of the Allsvenskan in Aatvidaberg’s 2-1 loss away at Hammarby. The 2005 U-20 World Cup finalist scored what proved to be the consolation seven minutes into the second half, after Hammarby had raced into a two-goal inside the first half-hour.
The loss leaves Aatvidaberg second-from bottom in the Swedish top-flight, with just one win in five games.

FRANCE
It was an afternoon to forget for Super Eagles captain Vincent Enyeama, as Lille went to the capital and were promptly destroyed by the champions. PSG were rampant at Parc des Princes, winning 6-1, with Enyeama culpable in at least the opener, which came almost straight from the kick-off.

SCOTLAND
Edward Ofere was on target for Inverness, but could not prevent a superior Aberdeen side from taking all three points. The 29-year-old opened the scoring in the 48th minute, but two goals in five minutes turned the tie in favour of the visitors, who extended their lead over third-place Inverness to 19 points.

GERMANY
Anthony Ujah was instrumental for FC Koln in their 1-1 home draw against Bayer Leverkusen. The Nigeria international was not himself on the scoresheet, but turned provider for the Billy Goats’ equaliser seven minutes from time, heading down for Bard Finne to fire home from inside the box, halting a run of five straight wins for Roger Schmidt’s side.
