Is Zayn Malik making moves to take his career in a different direction? The former One Direction member has reportedly been talking with a distinguished director about becoming an actor!

Lights! Camera! Zayn! Now that Zayn Malik, 22, is gone from One Direction, he has time to catch up on his other interests. Apparently, this includes acting! The former 1D singer has been openly considering a new life in front of the film camera, and even reportedly discussed this potential career change with a famous director!

Zayn Malik Actor? In Talks With Director About Possible Movie Career

Zayn is reportedly thinking about trading in music for movies, according to director, Gurinder Chadha, 55. Gurinder, best known for her movie, Bend It Like Beckham, said that she and Zayn recently chatted about his desires to become an actor, reports the Daily Mirror.

“We’ve met and spoken,” Gurinder told the Mirror. “He trained as an actor first then became part of the band. So I think what he’ll be doing is staying true to his heart – and that’s all you can ever do!”
Does this mean that Zayn will star in Gurinder’s next film? Maybe. She tells the Mirror that she doesn’t have a part in mind for Zayn right now, but adds that she hopes something will come up in the future.

Zayn’s shaved head wasn’t just to make him look like a leading man. It was also symbolic of the major changes that happened over the past two months.
“Zayn decided to shave his head as a cleansing ritual after all he’s been through,” a source EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife.com. “He felt it signified a fresh start, and again distances him from his boy band days when he had foppish hair.”
The 22-year-old first debuted the new look while attending the Asian Awards in London on April 17, which was also his first public appearance since announcing his decision to leave One Direction in March.
